Custom Closet and Shelving FAQs

Does byRoman work with homeowners, subcontractors or home builders?
byRoman is hired by homeowners and trade professionals. We’ve enjoyed long standing relationships with many remodelers, subcontractors, architects, interior designers, professional organizers, home builders, commercial builders and other trade professionals, as well as homeowners.
How long will it take byRoman to measure my master bedroom closet, design my space and send me a quote?
Each project comes with its’ own variables and timelines, but generally speaking we can provide you with a 3D rendering and project estimate of your custom closet project within a week of receiving measurements. When the approval and deposit have been received, and the finishes and other choices made, we will give you an approximate timeframe for installation – generally within two weeks.
What is the difference between melamine and laminate?
Melamine and laminate are the same – either can be used as the shelving surface, offering the same durability, wipe-ability, etc.
Do you have ideas on how to use space above doors or in spaces with high ceilings?
Absolutely. It is very common for homes to have 10’ ceilings, and you’re right – you don’t want to waste that space – it’s perfect for storing seasonal or seldom used items. byRoman can add shelving or cabinets above your closet organizers or design closet organizers that reach the ceiling – including the often under-utilized space above the doors. See our custom closet photo gallery for more ideas.
How many different finishes of laminate are there?
There are many finish colors available. However, we have found most homeowners choose between a half a dozen of the most popular wood tones and colors. See today’s most popular laminate finishes.
What if I measure my pantry space incorrectly?
The measurements we are provided for any storage or closet project help us to estimate and create your initial design only. The rough measurements you provide will not be used to fabricate your components. Prior to a final quote, design and fabrication, measurements will be taken by our professional staff.
What type of guarantee or warranty does byRoman offer?
byRoman has a 1 year warranty from the date of installation for byRoman and Rubbermaid shelving.
Why do you display the Rubbermaid and the byRoman logo on your custom closet page?
We display the Rubbermaid logo because we are proud to be the largest Rubbermaid dealer in the tri-state area. We design, measure and install Rubbermaid wire shelving in new construction, renovated laundry rooms, pantries and bedroom closets. We display the byRoman logo on our custom closet page because we are proud to offer our own branded line of laminate shelving, which is most often installed in master and other bedroom closets.
If I need help with my Rubbermaid closet components would I contact you or Rubbermaid?
You would contact byRoman with any questions about your Rubbermaid or byRoman brand closet or storage system.
